Gordon Johnson
Keyboards and Vocals
I took piano lessons through high school, played with
a bazillion bands, most notably the Platters (*Review
with Bernard Purdee, bass vocalist for the Platters;
Canada tour, January 91) and Sister (NoVa rock band
from 93-97). I have played punk, funk, R&B, rock
(classic, alternative and fusion varieties), country and
new age and had a great time in each genre.
Music has always been part of my life, although how
much so has gone up and down. I've lived in the NoVa
area most of my life with short stints in Steamboat
Springs, CO, San Francisco and Norfolk. I've taught
piano, been a manufacturer's representative for a
small synth company, and a couple of the bands were
my full time job (though that was hand-to-mouth
existence).
These days I do website development as a contractor
and have a great time rocking with Cover Up on the
weekends. If anyone is trying to find a good weekend
party, a night with these guys is just the ticket.
